Bournemouth Oceanarium

Crystal-clear waters and naturally-themed habitats allow close encounters with a dazzling array of underwater life from elegant seahorses to sinister tropical sharks.

The Oceanarium is easy to find

On Bournemouth seafront, on the West Beach Promenade just opposite Bournemouth Pier and close to the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC).

From the A338 Wessex Way follow the brown Oceanarium tourist signs or signs for Bournemouth Pier and BIC.

Sammy Miller Motor Museum

SAMMY MILLER is a legend in the motorcycle world, a road racer who established himself as one of Britain's premier trials riders in the glory days of the 1950s and 60s. As a works rider for the Ariel factory in Selly Oak, he single-handedly put the winged horse at the forefront of that unique branch of the sport. When Ariel was absorbed by BSA, he went his own way as a rider and dealer for the Spanish company, Bultaco.

The Sammy Miller Museum is just outside New Milton, Hampshire, about 15 miles west of Southampton and 10 miles east of Bournemouth. The nearest main line railway station is New Milton.

Alice in Wonderland Maze and Family Park

Inspired by Lewis Carroll's world-famous stories, the Alice in Wonderland Family Park is the perfect place for younger children to enjoy a unique day out. Seven acres of landscaped park have been magically transformed and you can meet Alice and her extraordinary friends.

Monkey World

Set amongst the woodland of Dorset lays 65 acres of sanctuary for over 150 primates. Monkey World was set up in 1987 by Jim and Alison Cronin to provide abused Spanish beach chimps with a permanent, stable home. Today Monkey World works in conjunction with foreign governments from all over the world to stop the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia. At the park visitors can see more than 150 primates of 15 different species.

Hurst Castle

Hurst Castle was the perfect location to defend the western approach to the Solent.

The castle was built by Henry VIII as one of a chain of coastal fortresses and was completed in 1544. A critical element in the improvement of the defences of the south coast by Henry VIII was the protection of the Solent, for this stretch of water gave access to the important ports of Portsmouth and Southampton.

To reach Keyhaven, from Lymington, take the A337 to the B3058 signposted to Milford-On-Sea. At Milford, take the Keyhaven Road. There is a car park at Keyhaven.

By boat – from Keyhaven.
There is a regular ferry service from Keyhaven to Hurst Castle, operating from April until the end of October. It is not possible to reach Hurst Castle by car.
